In December of 2008, the amazing Wildlife World Zoo in Arizona added an aquarium to its already extensive collection of exotic animals.

The Wildlife World Zoo is gaining popularity as more locals and visitors learn of the amazing collection of animals and handful of attractions the park offers. The zoo is the perfect place to learn about exotic animals while enjoying the gorgeous Arizona sunshine.

The Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium is Located in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area

The zoo is easily accessible by the 101 and the Interstate 10. It is located in Linchfield Park which is found on the outskirts of northwest Phoenix. The campus is wonderfully spacious offering much larger exhibits than found in most zoos.

Attractions at the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium Abound

First, a trip on the African Train Ride affords a journey into the grasslands of Africa where guests can encounter gazelles, antelopes and ostriches. Take the Australian Boat Ride for an adventure through the Land of Oz and its favorite creatures. The carousel ride offers the traditional fun with a nice menagerie of animals to choose from. The long awaited Log Plume Ride is much more than just the traditional log ride, it also offers a pass through the stunning new aquarium. The park's sky ride offers up to fifteen minutes of relaxation while enjoying a bird's eye view of the exhibits.

Exhibits are All Inclusive of the World's Continents

The zoo thrills visitors with wildlife encounters like the Lory Parrot exhibit where guest can feed the cute and friendly birds or the Small Mammals of the World area that showcases monkeys, rodents and bats in a delightfully air conditioned building. Thrill little ones with the park's petting zoo with deer and farm animals. Snakes, lizards and insects abound in the Tropics of the World Reptiles exhibit. For fifty cents, visitors can enjoy feeding a 12-foot Giraffe at a special feeding station.

Marine Life at the Wildlife World Zoo

The zoo's aquarium displays marine life in three buildings, each holding a different set of environments. The Diversity of Life in Water building holds several species of fish and also includes tree frogs, jellyfish, turtles and the American alligator. The Wild and the Wonderful exhibit holds the mysterious Giant Pacific Octopus, eels, Spiny Lobsters and more. The Predators enclosure offers encounters with Black-tip Reef Shark, Piranhas and Stingrays, among other predatory favorites.

Dining is a Pleasure at the Park's Eatery and Restaurant

Tiburón Aquarium Restaurant and Flamingo Lounge offer eating opportunities with stunning exhibits in the background. Nothing compares to delicious eats while enjoying relaxing views of gliding shark and tropical fish. This restaurant can be visited with or without aquarium admission and is open from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. For lighter fare, the Congo cooker provides refreshments and snacks and is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Plan Your Visit to the Wildlife World Zoo and Aquarium

What better way to teach biology than in the field? Teachers will enjoy the well organized program the park supplies with activities to ready classes for fields trips. The zoo continues to support schools by offering discounted admission for both children and chaperons when purchased as a school group.

The zoo is open every day of the year, including holidays. The park opens at 9:00a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. while the aquarium remains open until 10:00 p.m. The temperature of Phoenix can be warm in the summer months, but the zoo offers many shaded areas and covered exhibits. During the fall through spring, visitors will relish the perfect sunshine with mild temperatures.
